Accompanied by bassist Rufus Reid and drummer Albert "Tootie" Heath , Flanagan delivers an intimate concert that reflects the elegance, lyricism, and effortless swing that made him one of jazz's most admired pianists. Produced independently of any touring commitments, the performance stands as a deeply personal artistic statement and a fitting celebration of a lifetime devoted to jazz.
Throughout the concert, Flanagan reflects upon the musicians and friendships that shaped his remarkable career, from the influence of Art Tatum and Hank Jones to his long associations with Thad Jones, Dexter Gordon, John Coltrane, and Ella Fitzgerald.
