Tito Larriva presents a musical biography with ‘PUNK LUCK thru 5 decades’: more than 25 rare songs, previously unreleased tracks and newly reworked versions spanning five decades of his creative work.
Spread across four thematic album sides - The Plugz, Movie Scores, Canciones and Tarantula - the compilation traces Larriva’s journey in a musical-biographical anthology: from co-founding one of the most influential early LA punk bands, The Plugz, through Cruzados and numerous film music projects (‘Repo Man’, ‘Desperado’, ‘She’s So Lovely’, ‘Somebody To Love’), to his long-running project, Tito & Tarantula.
The newly mastered and restored tracks move between punk, Chicano/x rock, Latino/x music and film music. A career inspired by fellow artists, collaborators and admirers including David Byrne of Talking Heads, Bob Dylan, Wim Wenders, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. “There was a thread running through everything… and in the end, it became a kind of musical biography,” says Larriva.
‘PUNK LUCK thru 5 decades’ will be released in 2026 - the year punk rock turns 50 - and accompanies Tarantula’s current Best Of tour, with 40 concerts in nine countries. A career-spanning portrait of one of the most restless and enduring artists in American punk and Chicano/x rock.
