On Answered Prayers, The Mosaic Window pulls back from the more polished, prog-tinged death/black hybrid of 2024's Hemasanctum and returns to the project's original core: first and second wave black metal, filtered through atmospheric shrieks of despair and phantasmal, buried death growls. The album's nihilistic concept — humanity erased retroactively, centuries before the Industrial Revolution, as the only "cure" for a poisoned world — plays out across ten tracks of cold, apocalyptic fury. Highlights include the blistering, melodic "Serpentine" and "Devotion to My Burning Desire," the more dynamic, mid-tempo "Lightning Be Thy Guide," and "What Sage Could Not Cleanse" — an older composition that anchors the album's back-to-roots direction. Mixed and mastered by Alex Sedin (Ghostalgy Productions), with Dmitry Kim (Jinjer) on session drums.
