I\u003cbr\u003ecan't imagine how many hours of playing, recording, deleting, editing and listening went\u003cbr\u003einto making these sounds. Recently I returned to some of these musical pieces and\u003cbr\u003eadded guitar, bass, then vocals or spoken words. I replaced some of the electronic\u003cbr\u003eorchestral parts I'd played with real strings, trumpets, and real drums. I took time in the\u003cbr\u003estudio to get the real instruments to compliment the electronic sounds.\u003cbr\u003eBecause I also love spontaneity, some songs came from improvised moments. Creating\u003cbr\u003ea song like this still feels magical to me. I can't really explain how this happens, it just\u003cbr\u003ehappens! This album is a mix of intensely thought-out music and the instant.\u003cbr\u003eBecause the places and relationships detailed in the songs actually exist there is a\u003cbr\u003econceptual feel to the record. Maybe it could be the soundtrack to a film not yet made?\u003cbr\u003eThe Bristolian is about my town but it could be your town, your relationships and your\u003cbr\u003estory too.\"\u003cbr\u003eWoodward is known for his extensive career in music including his time in The\u003cbr\u003eBrilliant Corners, Karen and The Experimental Pop Band. He then went onto form\u003cbr\u003eDavey Woodward and the Winter Orphans, which produced two albums; a self-titled\u003cbr\u003edebut in 2018 and Mystic Science in 2023. Most recently Davey released a solo album\u003cbr\u003etitled Mumbo in the Jumbo.
