The album was worked on as a four piece, recorded at Axe+Trap in Wells, Somerset, then taken apart and put back together. A year of fine tuning. A year to break the music apart. But this is still Reigns. Creeping. Oozing. It's still Reigns. They can say \"traditional verse \/ chorus\" but to anyone listening this music still drags you in to their world. The duo are musical auteurs. This is their sound and no tweaking or line up additions seems to alter the haunted feel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLyrically, in Tim's words – \"faced, as we all are, with the daily drip of unfathomable stupidity and evil - things veered off course too. The songs are about (sequentially): the indignities of poverty, the resurgence of fascism, the dangers and futility of unchecked ambition, the hypocrisy of eleventh-hour religious conversions, grief, immigration myths and suicide. What had started out as a breezy collection of songs became, unintentionally, an apocalyptic statement of disgust\".\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReigns tell stories. They always have. From the beginning when the microphone was lowered a mile into the ground to Dead Centre via the House On The Causeway the duo are story tellers. Horror folk tales that are as real as you want them to be. All stories are born from some truth.
