"Oracular Spectacular" marks the debut studio album by the American band MGMT, hitting the shelves on October 2, 2007, through RED Ink and later physically on January 22, 2008, via Columbia. With Dave Fridmann at the production helm, this album represents the band's inaugural venture into fresh creative territory, capturing their musical essence during a recording period spanning from March to April 2007.
The album was promoted by the release of three singles: "Time to Pretend," "Electric Feel," and "Kids." Notably, "Time to Pretend" and "Kids" underwent re-recording for the album, having originally debuted on the band's prior release, "Time to Pretend" (2005). The former serves as a compelling "mission statement," setting the thematic tone that resonates throughout the album's subsequent tracks.
Acknowledged for its excellence, "Oracular Spectacular" earned a nomination for the International Album award at the 2009 Brit Awards. REFUNDS
