Australian experimental outfit King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have built a well-earned reputation as one of the most prolific, adventurous and inventive bands of all time.
Since 2010, the band have released 25 studio albums, which range from expansive jazz-rock, to spaghetti Western soundscapes, semi-acoustic cosmic ballads, sci-fi prog, kaleidoscopic garage rock, thrash metal, explorations of microtonal tunings, Krautrock and more.
‘Omnium Gatherum’’s sprawling 16 tracks of gonzoid prog jams, dizzying pop nuggets, rubber-legged hip-hop odysseys and passages of pure thrash metal abandon offer plenty for Gizzard fans and neophytes alike to chew on. Typically, Gizzard albums pursue a single theme or style - but part of the thrill of ‘Omnium Gatherum’ for the group was the opportunity to present new ideas without committing the entire album to just one. It’s both the perfect entry point for newcomers, and a solid treat for the faithful.
Pressed on injection moulded, 100% recyclable PET. 180g Cosmic Black double vinyl in a deluxe gatefold jacket with artwork by Jason Galea. Housed in a 100% recycled outer sleeve in lieu of shrink wrap. Inner sleeve with lyrics and behind the scenes recording pics taken by the band.
