Together, GOD made a holy racket worthy of its fine and varied pedigree on its 1992 debut album Possession, to which we suppose the term “industrial jazz” could be applied. It’s a mixture of crushing chords that wouldn’t be out of place on a Swans album with free jazz skronk reminiscent of early ‘70s Miles at his most atonal, punctuated by unexpected moments of fragile beauty. And yet, it swings! This first-ever LP release comes remastered for the format in double-barreled tan smoke vinyl housed inside a gatefold jacket.
