Austin based experimental indie rock darlings, Font, wrote their sophomore record over the course of two years. After their debut, Strange Burden (2024), the band wanted to reframe their approach to writing. The sound that garnered praise from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and other critical music outlets began to feel less original. Many of the songs on this new album were built from recordings of improvised sessions in their friends', Dutch Interiors, studio in Long Beach, California, where they wrote for three weeks in the summer of 2025. After the band was able to break the mold they created on the first album, they found the bones of what American Bully XL became.
"We were guided by many of the same questions that guided our first record, such as: Where does the acoustic end and the electronic begin? What's the relationship between dark and light, despair and euphoria, the self and the other?"
Although these are all fundamental to the band, American Bully XL is the result of the band taking those questions from the live stage and into the studio, where they learned to open the music to still more questions: What's a song? What's Texas? What's an instrument? What does it mean to be a man? What's a recording? How could you?

RETURNING GOODS
If you decide to cancel your order, you are responsible for taking reasonable care of the goods while they are in your possession. To complete the return process, send the goods back to our contact address at your own expense. Exceptions apply if we delivered the item in error, or if the item is damaged or defective.
COST OF RECOVERY
In case the returned goods are not received within the specified conditions, we reserve the right to charge you for the direct costs incurred in recovering the goods.
REFUNDS
Once you have notified us of your decision to cancel the order, any payments made will be promptly refunded to you. You can expect the refund to be processed within 14 days of your cancellation.
