fluXus returns to CiS with a beautiful new album entitled 'Ghost Signs'.
fluXus is Cornwall based artist Nigel Rushbrook. Born on the same day as Ralph Vaughan Williams and Alistair Crowley, Nigel lives and records in a cottage once owned by Sargeant Howie AKA Edward Woodward. 'Ghost Signs' brings some darker shades of ambience and classic electronic sounds, with Berlin School style sequencing and a retro sensibility. Nigel uses vintage analog and virtual synths and old-school effects. Nostalgic space music in which cosmic space is seen in mirrors of emotional space. Electronic soundscapes that are inhabited - or haunted - by humanity. Nigel explains, "If electronic music is sometimes intellectual, my music comes from emotion first. Yes, switches are set, sounds are created, sequences are composed, but then my two hands play them on an 88-note keyboard from the heart. The "space" in my music can be superficially astronomical space, but is actually emotional space. Inspiration more from A. E. Housman than Arthur C. Clarke." The 'Ghost Signs' album passes through City Of London streets, along brick passages, across the Alexandrian desert, and weaves in some lost nostalgias for what might have been. It's a ghostly vibe alright.
fluXus takes us through track by track:
Track 1: 'Cannon Street' is wandering City Of London streets, noticing the palimpsest of history, and one's own tiny place, that still weighs heavy.
Track 2: 'Ghost Signs' are the worn notices in brickwork, unfulfilled promises from the past. They are everywhere if you only look.
Track 3: 'Outremer' is the desert journey in search of enlightenment in Laurence Durrell's 'Monsieur.'
Track 4: 'Ancient Lights' is an old sequence that has haunted me for years, this is its second tune.
Track 5: 'SYS826' is a mysterious command that caused chaos and confusion on an old computer.
fluXus has released two albums for the Castles in Space Subscription Library. This is his first release for the main CiS label. The fan response for the Subscription releases has been overwhelming.

RETURNING GOODS

COST OF RECOVERY
In case the returned goods are not received within the specified conditions, we reserve the right to charge you for the direct costs incurred in recovering the goods.
REFUNDS
Once you have notified us of your decision to cancel the order, any payments made will be promptly refunded to you. You can expect the refund to be processed within 14 days of your cancellation.
