The debut album from Melbourne-born, London-based flautist Erica Tucceri, ‘Route 96’ is a transportive blend of percussive, flute-led contemporary jazz, psychedelic textures and groove-led improvisation. Inspired by her time driving Melbourne’s iconic Route 96 tram during the city’s COVID lockdowns, the album transforms the city’s rhythms, sounds and everyday moments into a rich, deeply personal body of work. Released via DeepMatter Records, it introduces one of the most distinctive new voices to emerge from Melbourne’s thriving jazz crossover scene.
The album features an all-star ensemble of close collaborators, including Ziggy Zeitgeist, Lewis Moody, Matt Hayes, Emma Volard, Ray Pereira and Javier Fredes.
A prolific collaborator across the Australian jazz scene, having worked with the likes of ZFEX, Don Glori, Surprise Chef and Alexander Flood, Tucceri now steps fully into her own world with a deeply rhythmic, cinematic and groove-led debut project.
Following a sold-out commissioned premiere at the 2024 Melbourne International Jazz Festival, European touring, and her London bandleader debut at Ronnie Scott’s and EFG London Jazz Festival, the campaign will focus on building Erica’s profile across the UK, EU and Australia through dedicated PR / radio campaigns, live activity, visual storytelling and targeted digital marketing.
