Two key figures in New York hip-hop whose respective come-ups were tied to their shared city, Dave East and Harry Fraud, rightfully earned respect amid their distinct paths to success. Five years ago, in late July of 2021, the rapper from Harlem and the Brooklyn-bred producer dropped HOFFA - their critically acclaimed fourteen-track mafioso rap saga - and began building the foundation for their newest collaborative album Price of Pain.
Despite a five-year break between projects, East & Fraud haven't missed a step and are sharper than ever on Price of Pain. Fraud's production on Price of Pain is fittingly cinematic and leaves ample space for East to showcase his lyricism throughout the 14-track album, whether on his own or alongside guest appearances from the likes of Benny The Butcher, Snoop Dogg, Styles P, AZ, 38 Spesh & Cruch Calhoun.
