Everything We Love, We Destroy finds Swiss noise-rockers COILGUNS at their most direct, immediate and instinctive. Written against the backdrop of an increasingly opaque and difficult world, the album is a furious, mournful and ultimately hopeful response to the chaos surrounding them.
Having spent much of the last year on the road, the band returned to their hometown of La Chaux- de- Fonds, Switzerland, carrying new experiences, energies and perspectives gathered from the people they encountered around the world. With no desire to waste time, they wrote fast songs and recorded them quickly, working from their own headquarters studio: an old warehouse packed with two decades' worth of equipment collected through touring, experimentation and years of making noise.
The result is a record built around instinct. COILGUNS describe their riffs as rougher than ever and their lyrics as clearer than ever, while their innate weirdness remains entirely intact. Faced with a world that increasingly feels absurd, contradictory and unstable, the band deliberately chose simplicity and boldness -- stripping away anything unnecessary to get to the heart of each song.
The album reunites COILGUNS with the core team behind their previous record, Odd Love, engineered by Scott Evans (Thrice, La Dispute, Neurosis), mixed by Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Pixies, Royal Blood) and mastered by Robin Schmidt.
The physical artwork carries that same tension between anger and tenderness. Swiss artist Jessica Vaucher created an original embroidered piece on a simple sheet of cardboard, continuing the spirit of her Connard series, where harsh words are patiently stitched into everyday materials using needles and red wool. The embroidery was photographed and layered with Delia Roulet's bleeding-heart logo, a symbol that has accompanied COILGUNS onstage since 2024.
Everything We Love, We Destroy is about choosing how to respond to a world that often feels impossible to comprehend. COILGUNS refuse to retreat from that reality. Instead, they meet it head- on. "We see a sad world losing hope, and we choose to respond with electricity and sweat. We want to keep sharing that energy, so that not everything we love gets destroyed."
5th studio album by explosive Swiss noise rock band Coilguns
Co-produced and engineered by Scott Evans (La Dispute, Neurosis, Thrice, Ghoul), mixed by Grammy- nominated producer Tom Dalgety (The Pixies, Ghost, Royal Blood) and mastered by Robin Schmidt (Liam Gallagher, The Gaslight Anthem).
