The Sasketchawan-bred singer’s been around the block for long enough, and made enough records – mostly with her cousin Clayton Linthicum in their duo, Kacy & Clayton – to know both the bright and the ugly sides of the music industry all too well. So that made it feel just like I could do whatever I wanted, and I wasn’t thinking about how it would be received, or even thinking I would put it out. So having that mindset was pretty nice.”
